After reading a lot of my fellow classmates blog about their thinking of deleting their facebook(s), I am doubtful that they are really going to follow through with this plan. Honestly, you say thats youve learned so much about it that you want to delete it? No way jose. Ill be keeping my facebook, learning about it makes me more aware of spammers and keeping my privacy settings in check but delete? a little too extreme if I do say so myself.

Engaging students through facebook
http://org.elon.edu/catl/conference/documents/FacebookEducation.pdf
Interestingly, this is pretty much what our class was about. This actually might help Malcolm in the future for other "Facebook" topic English classes.

Facebook vs MySpace
http://www.2010.newsweek.com/top-10/heated-rivalries/facebook-vs-myspace.html
I found this article while researching for my paper. Its pretty interesting and funny in its comparison of MySpace and Facebook, although comparison isnt exactly a fair word for this article. Its more like adoration for Facebook and condemnation for MySpace, however it is comically accurate.

Facebook Ads
Well I kept getting the same ads over and over so here they are:
The 1st and most frequent one was an ad for playing soccer at Coker college: this ad was for women who have an interest in playing soccer at the collegiate level. Coker college is in conference carolinas which is the same conference Queens is in so I felt that was ironic and obviously I play soccer so they have found a connection there.
The 2nd most frequent ad was for shoes: "Shoe Bliss. Just $39.95" I would say this ad is directed at young females because there are pictures of stylish high heels and boots. Again this ad is spot on because as I have said before on facebook, I have a shoe addiction.
The 3rd most frequent ad was for 5 free songs on iTunes: This ad can be directed towards anyone who has an ipod or mp3 player, which is a lot of facebook users today. However, I dont use iTunes to download music so this doesnt apply to me.

The Social Network review
http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20100929/REVIEWS/100929984
Link to Robert Ebert of the Chicago Sun-Times 's review of The Social Network
In this review Ebert applauds the movie's director, David Fincher for such great use of dumbing down computer programming, a subject that a select few people can understand, to in order to make the movie entertaining and "brilliant". Ebert tells of the opening scene by saying the dialouge includes speed-talking and an aggressive interrogation. He also goes into breif detail about what how the movie plays out with switching back and forth between lawsuits and discusses the actors who play each significant role, i.e. Eduardo Saverin, The Winklevosses, and Sean Parker. Towards the end of the review, Ebert speaks more on the dialogue of the movie which he raves that it has "the velocity of a screwball comedy." He goes onto to praise the major actors in their success of achieving the difficult task of playing their roles with perfection. Ebert ends his review with calling the movie "spendidly well-made."

Visual Rhetoric Assignment
This image is trying to persuade people to take to exercise by taking the stairs instead of taking the elevator. The audience is anyone that is physically able to take the stairs. This sign uses words as well as images to persuade the audience. The writer is trying to encourage healthy behaviors in its audience as well as conserve energy by not using electricity to power the elevator.
